Michael Jackson – King of Pop

Michael Jackson; the most famous celebrity ever, the most successful pop musician ever and possibly the most widely documented human being ever. He’s broken countless records in the music business and influenced billions of people worldwide.

It’s known that Michael’s father abused him and his brothers and sisters as children. Michael bearing the brunt of it. My point of view on the way this affected Michael pshycologically is that, being deprived of a real childhood( because of the beatings and pressure with his music) made him want to make a second childhood in later life. This is why I believe he acted so eccentrically. With growing success and a high amount of fame Jackson could use the money from his music to fund his second childhood. With his growing popularity and the fickleness of the paparazzi, someone was bound to latch on to the superstar’s perculiar ways. Jackson was abused by the media all of his life, this hurt him more. Michael was already self conscious about his looks because of name calling from his father. Many believe that this caused Michael’s addiction to plastic surgery. As a young man Michael was handsome but he ruined his looks by overdoing plastic surgery. He came under  a lot of scrutiny from the media for this. I believe this was harsh treatment, as it was clearly a cry for help from a very confused person.

Michael is known for his stage presence, great singing, incredible dancing and innovative videos. This is shown by the brilliant choreography in songs like; Thriller, Beat it and Smooth criminal. Michael certainly moonwalked his way into history with his brilliance on the stage.

Now to the bits Michael hopefully will be remembered for. He won many accolades over his long career here too many to list in this article here are some important ones:

• World Music Awards’ best selling pop male artist of the millennium
• The American Music Awards’ Artist of the century award
• Bambi pop artist of the millennium
• Eight Guinness world records
• 13 Grammy awards
• 13 number one singles
• 750 million records sold worldwide

 The gentle, naive, genius that was Michael Jackson has been taken from us. Its such a cruel fate that evil people all over the world carry on living, while the good perish. Michael Jackson has changed the world weather it be humanitarian or music. Hes shaped pop and influenced many of the famous singers we know today.
