Michael Jackson News Phenomena Over Written for Money
Opinionated article on writing for money and neglecting an important factor.
During the Michael Jackson writing phenomena I kept very quiet as far as writing any sort of article about the man or family. My values stipulate try not to gossip, or make money from someone else’s misfortune.
I am writing this article because I was highly disturbed about how many writers were writing about the man, and how many articles were claiming different stories. I also knew deep down as a published writer, they were only doing if for views to make money. The hotter the news the more it will be read. Another belief I try not to fall victim too. After a period of time you can only read about the same topic so often without wanting a snooze. I also did not know which version to believe.
I am also writing this article to find out some opinions left in the comment section of some questions about Michael Jackson that I am wondering about. A theory I do not quite understand why other writers are not discussing.
During all that fan craze of people grieving for the man and his family, the one topic came coming to mind repeatedly. What about the little boy he was accused of fondling?
Again I stipulate this is an opinion piece, not one based on fact. Michael Jackson was never declared innocent from any judge on that matter of the child molestation. He paid the family millions of dollars to not go to court and have it buried and not discussed.
What I want to discuss is this; if I was being falsely accused of such a hideous crime I would be going to court to fight it all the way, and not paying some family money to have it “go away.” The articles I was reading claimed he was too ill to appear in a court setting, and could not attend to this matter in front of judge or jury.
This is a person’s reputation at stake and they claimed to be too ill to go to court. Myself, I find this very hard to believe. I fight for my reputation at all costs and stakes. I would have been wheeled into court with an air mask and on a hospital bed if it were me.
This is something for people to consider when thinking of that entire matter. If you were accused of a crime and you were sick, would you just give over the money? Or would you fight it your dying breath to the public, the family, and for your own self worth to go to court regardless if you were ill?
My wheelchair, oxygen mask, and IV pole would have been brought along with me.
What about you? Can your reputation be bought to make something as horrible as that accusation go away?
