Did you see the picture of Michael Jackson’s head on fire in the Pepsi advertisement? At first he did not realise what was happening, and still continued to dance. People had to rush to him to put him down, and put out the fire.
This must have been painful, and by no means, would I want to make excuses for him to have taken drugs. He obviously went overboard, but this must have caused severe emotional trauma, and excruciating pain after the fact.
I have never stood in his shoes, but given his lack of a normal chidhood, coupled with this incident, no telling how this could have affected him throughout the years. When he got up after the fire, you could see his scalp, which meant it got to his scalp. For women, who have been burned during a perm, this is very painful, and I have personally experienced this, but I am sure it could not be compared with having your head on fire.
This incident was touching, and brought a new understanding of how broken he must have been. For the critics, it is alright to complain that you have no shoes, until you meet the man without feet.
