Miss Usa 2010 Comes in Pole Position

Miss USA’s Rima Fakih win over Morgan Elizabeth Woolard is making news as racy pictures surface of the Miss USA winner’s pole dancing past.

Rima Fakih may have just been crowned Miss USA 2010 – but this isn’t the first title she’s claimed. The Miss Michigan beauty has been a winner before, being crowned the winner of “Stripper 101”, a competition for pole dancers.

As racy pictures of her modelling days hit the web, bloggers and news sites have been quick to criticize the beauty queen, calling her a bad role model and raising the issue of her family being strict Shiite Muslim. But Rima claims her family’s religious beliefs are irrelevant to the image she is portraying, whilst she poses for racy photo shoots wearing nothing but her underwear and fishnet stockings.

It appears her pole dancing past may have been to her advantage in winning Miss USA 2010 – it was her charm and grace that won her the crown, beating runner-up Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard. Morgan lost out to Rima after a tricky question about Arizona’s immigration laws saw her come unstuck at the last hurdle. Some new columnists are claiming that is was this difficult question that lost Morgan the crown, as the crowd erupted in boos over the political content of the question.

The crown was given to Rima in the end, who is the first Arab-American to win the Miss USA title. She now goes on to represent the US in Miss Universe 2010.
