Mj’s 1984 Victory Glove Sells $190,000

Las Vegas – Michael Jackson’s 1984 victory tour glove sells $190,000 on auction.

Michael Jackson’s keepsakes sold almost $1 million at an auction held on his death anniversary, but on the limelight of attention is his Swarovski-crystal-studded glove (the one he wore on his 1984 Victory Tour) which sold $190,000!

Bidding on the items started Friday for over 200 of Michael Jackson’s mementos and collector’s items. According to Darren Julien, who made the auction possible at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas, it was unlike anything they have ever experienced. Collectors and fanatics swarmed in and began picking items.

In their list, the glove was only estimated to sell roughly about $20,000 to $30 grand. But as the bidders competed, the price went up and up until Wanda Kelley from Los Angeles bids $190K for the glove. As no one would dare the offer, she won it. When interviewed by Las Vegas Sun, Wanda stated she was even ready if the stakes were to go higher.

She remarked smilingly, “Let’s just say, I wasn’t walking out” without that glove.

Among the most competed items were Michael Jackson’s stage-worn loafers, expected to sell $2,000 to $3,000. The winning bidder got it at $90,000. Another one was his custom jacket ($6,000-$8,000) which sold $120,000.

Most of the items, said Darren, sold more than ten times their anticipated price. It just goes to show, Darren added, “you Michael Jackson” is the most sought after and most collectible celebrity “of all time!” It was just phenomenal, Darren remarked when interviewed by the Las Vegas Review Journal.
