Model Profile: Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung was discovered by a scout from London-based modelling agency Storm Model Management at age 16 in the Comedy Tent at Reading Festival.  After finishing her A-Levels, Alexa had offers from both King’s College London to read English and the Chelsea College of Art and Design to study Art, but instead chose to pursue modelling for a while.

From here, she starred in a series of modelling campaigns for Elle, Cosmo, Oxfam’s ethical fashion range Revamped, DKNY Jeans, and became the face of New Look in 2009. She has also modelled in catwalk shows for Vivienne Westwood and DKNY.

However, in between her fashion pursuits, Alex has established herself in the entertainment industry as a talented TV presenter – an aspect of her career which has gone from strength to strength. Beginning on TV and radio series Popworld in 2006, Alexa has since landed her own MTV show ‘It’s On With Alexa Chung’ and has worked for notable BBC, Channel 4 and ITV programmes including ‘Gok’s Fashion Fix’ and ‘T4’.

Alongside TV and fashion careers, Alexa has somehow also found time to launch herself as a print journalist, writing columns for The Independent and Company on a weekly and monthly basis respectively over the past few years. More remarkable still, Alexa was made a contributing editor of the highly esteemed British Vogue in June 2009.

Her love life has also been a media-inspiring series of interesting connections. She had an on-off relationship with Ian Watkins of Lostprophets, has dated James Righton of the Klaxons and The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan, and tabloids have linked her with The OC actor Adam Brody and model Jamie Dornan. She is currently dating Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, who she has been with since 2007.

Now 24, Alexa is certainly known for a variety of impressive and interesting activities. I look forward to seeing what this lovely lady does next!
