Narcissists in Hollywood
Are you narcissistic enough to make it to Hollywood?
When we talk about narcissists in Hollywood, the first names to come in mind would be Kim Kardashan and Paris Hilton. Undeniably, they excessively enjoy being in that red carpet with the shimmering flashes of cameras along with the barbaric yells of the paparazzi. Well, who wouldn’t? Probably, anti-social individuals, hermits, and loners wouldn’t appreciate such a crowd that regales you attention. But in Hollywood, no celebrity would shun the camera unless he or she is in the middle of something shameful.

What we are talking about here, however, is the extreme degree of hunger for attention. Narcissists in Hollywood would include all actors and entertainers in Hollywood. (Well, duh?) Narcissism is a human nature, an above average degree of it makes one a star (given the talent and/or power), and an extreme level makes one a pathological piece.
The thing is this- these narcissists in Hollywood are getting a lot of attention but they still can’t get enough. The more attention they get, the higher amount of attention they would demand. It contradicts the principle of decreasing satisfaction. (The more coke you drink, the less your desire to drink some becomes.) Good for them though. Talent and looks alone cannot guarantee a spot in Hollywood. You gotta have a certain amount of narcissism to get noticed.
For the sake of obtaining narcissistic supply, these narcissists in Hollywood would even go extremes doing the craziest legal thing possible just to get their faces on tabloid front pages. I hope that in the next decades, we won’t read a headline that goes like this: Hollywood Pop Star Ate Poop.
The question, “Do you have what it takes to make it to Hollywood?” can be translated to “Are you talented and narcissistic enough to be a Hollywood star?” Famous narcissists in Hollywood apparently prove how excessive self-love works when it comes to achieving fame. That fame translates to power, which gives these celebrities the prerogative to control their fans to consistently grant them the narcissistic supply that keeps them alive.
