OJ: Ironic Justice?

OJ Simpson 13 years to the day was acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife and her boyfriend Ron Goldman. Now, OJ could face life in prison for the memorabilia robbery.

OJ Simpson, a former football star, was convicted of all 12 counts against him. It seems like OJ thought for a while that he would get off like last time. Now, he could face life in prison for something frivolous. It is smart to assume that he wishes that he could re-consider his actions in Las Vegas. Could it be ironic justice? OJ thought he was clear from any possible prison time since he remained free for years, but he became tripped up in a petty robbery. Fate apparently had another idea.

The ironic justice for the Brown and Goldman families is the date of the conviction. Ron Goldman’s father said he was glad that OJ could spend the rest of his life in prison. It appears that the families are willingly to get whatever justice they feel they are due. Is that fair? Well, some may say that it is spiteful. Meanwhile, others may agree with the families.

Perhaps, if OJ had the same legal team, he could have slipped through again on a technicality. Unfortunately, two of his dream team members are no longer around. OJ’s legal backing has lost its shine, and now he is suffering the consequences of his actions.

In the past, OJ was living in Miami near the water. He will no longer be able to enjoy the golf and relaxing lifestyle he enjoyed for the past decade. Ironically, I have a friend that lives nearby his home. We all have to wait to see what happens next. The sentencing will occur in December 2008.
