Paris Hilton: The Anti-Role Model

Role models are people that others look up to and Paris Hilton is not a role model.

I am not a fan of Paris Hilton. I used to feel sorry for her though. Does anyone remember when the show The O.C. first came on? I saw Paris like the character Marissa, a misunderstood and misjudged socialite, crying out for attention. She may very well be like that, but the way she goes about getting attention is wrong, mostly illegal and completely immoral. I truly fear for the young girls who look up to her and girls like her. No one should use Paris Hilton as a role model; if anything use her as a guide of what not to be.

When she was in jail, she told Barbara Walters that once she got out she was going to quit acting stupid and get serious about trying to be a good role model. I have two things to say:

  1. If she was acting stupid, she is a better actor than I thought
  2. It is too late to be role model

Advice for Paris:

  • Stop drinking and taking every drug you can
  • Stop posing with the Bible; actually open it and read it
  • Stop “acting” stupid it is starting to look natural on you

Advice to young girls looking up to Paris:

  • Find someone worth adoration
  • “Illegal” does not equal “fun and adventure”
  • Drunk driving is not a joke, it can kill
  • Drugs affect your brain long-term; you do not believe me? Ask Paris a question and see how long it takes her to answer

Loved it, it’s sad that young girls have her as a role model. That is what we have to be faced with in a generation of microwave fame, where you can be famous without actually having any talent, or even worked for the fame you now have.
In the UK, they have the equivalent of Jordan, Jade Goody(Big Brother contestant) and the various WAGS(Wives And Girlfriends) of foootballers. Who live off second hand fame and become published authors. This teaches kids that you don’t have to work hard for anything, just become a tabliod favorite, appear on a reality tv show or hook up and leach off the fame of somebody already famous.
The future looks like clones of Victoria Beckham,Paris Hilton,Vicky Pollard and Lauren Cooper.
    VERY SCARY INDEED.
