Patrick Swayze is the much loved actor of the mid 80’s to early 90’s.

On a personal level because of his role in classic ‘chick flicks’ ‘Ghost’ and ‘Dirty Dancing’ he will forever be emblazoned in our hearts.

Each generation will have the chance to experience the fairytale hero with the roguish charm and a hint of the bad boy about him.

Whether they pin him on a pedestal of fantasy dreamboats like we did is another thing.

Patrick Swayze has starred in films such as Point Break, Roadhouse and Red Dawn to name a few which is a drop in the ocean of films he had played a role in, spanning over 30 years as an actor.

Patrick Swayze has been married to Lisa Niemi since June 12, 1975, which endears him to us even more because he has held onto his love for three decades.

Since January 2008 he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer to which he has undergone chemotherapy and fought a major public battle of the illness.

Recently, rumours have been spreading that Patrick Swayze has died and a spokesperson for the actor denied this.

Whoever is spreading such rumours should take into consideration not just Mr. Swayze but also his family who have had to come to terms with the possibility of losing him. He deserves nothing less than respect and consideration through this tumultuous period of his life.
