Pattinson vs.. Lautner
This is basically a comparison of Lautner and Pattinson’s attitudes during their interviews on Jay Leno’s show.
I just watched Taylor Lautner on Jay Leno and was amazed at how cool and confident he was. He had a good sense of humor and he came off as totally sincere and funny without looking cocky or pretentious. You have to hand it to the guy (boy) – he is only 17 and he is pretty good at handling TV appearances. I had no idea. Watching Twilight, you are kind of programmed to see Robert Pattinson as the more mature one. After all he is playing a 90-year-old stuck in the body of a high school student. This character is worldly and intense. He knocks Bella off her feet.
Taylor plays Jacob, a nice, sweet teenager. Now, Robert is what? 23 in real life? I felt bad lusting over his twilight character- I felt too old. I am 25, mind you. But still. I am used to being attracted to actors older than me, such as Keanu Reeves or Hugh Jackman or Gerard Butler. And Taylor is by all means a kid in my eyes. But I watched Jay Leno with Taylor and then I got curious. I wondered how Robert did. I knew he is not very good with off-screen appearances, he looks uncomfortable and out-of-place; like someone forced him to be there. And in all honesty, he was probably forced. But you can’t run away from the publicity bits if you want your movie to sell.
Anyhow, Robert just looked weird on the show. Where Taylor looked like he was going to grow up to be a mature and likable actor, Robert made me think that he channels whatever maturity he has in him into his character Edward so we are left with this awkward teenager with a bad hairdo. So I will admit to finding Edward Cullen hot. Robert? Not so much. And Taylor has got some growing older to do. But all in all, Taylor seems to be handling popularity a lot better than Pattinson and that has got to earn him some points. After all, they are actors.
Here’s where you can decide for yourselves:

We appreceate Robert Pattinson, showing his uncomfortable feeling. That’s s.th. honest. Taylor Lautner – of course- he does a good job, he’s a sportsman and he’s pretty self-controlled. He has to be self-controlled, if he wouldn’t – he couldn’t have been that successful athletic he’s since his childhood. He perfectly fits in the pattern of the young american successful boy with all the expected behavour and perfect teeth.
Anyway, it’s Pattinson who’s touching, cause he doesn’t try to be perfect, he’s still fighting for his own way, not pretending he has allready found it. All my respect to this young man who doesn’t try to fit ina pattern but rather to stay polite.

Well, Krimono- I have respect for both in the sense that how they made it so big so young. And I later realized I might have been a little judgemental about Rob and wrote this post on my blog:

However, I don’t see confidence as a pattern. It is about being an actor, being in front of a camera and relaxing. Comfortable actors’ interviews entertain me much more. I suggest you watch Gerard Butller or Hugh Jackman. You’ll know what I mean.
Thanks so much for commenting.

You did forget that Taylor didnt get the same level of popularity as Rob. Actually I wonder how he did stay sane.
