When was the last time you heard a thank you ?

When was the last time a shop assistant, assisted you with a smile?

 If you are finding it hard to remember ,you are not alone.

 What has happened to common courtesy these days? It seems manners have become a thing of the past and being rude is the new way. These are just my personal observations it may be different for others but here is a few examples.

   A man in a restaurant orders his meal ” Ill have the chicken and my wife will have the lamb” 

  A child is given a lolly snatches it and runs away

  A driver on a busy road refuses to let you out of a side street and stops in front of you when  there was   room for him to let you in.

   A school boy swears in front of an elderly lady at a bus stop.

   A shop keeper slams your change on the counter after purchasing a drink

   Someone calls you trying a hard sell while your are having dinner with your family.

  A little thing called manners and common courtesy seem to be missing from all these examples and it happens everyday all over the world. A simple please and thank you would make such a difference to someones day,a smile and a “Thank you very much ” could be the difference between a bad day and a good day for some people. Its time we reminded ourselves that manners do exist and maybe try and practice them a little more, remind our children and teach them that manners go a long way in this world . Polite well mannered people are becoming a rarity these days and the only way we can change this is to educate our children to show common courtesy and manners, at least then we can begin to make a change.
