Pop Star Pink and The Nude Pictures

Off with her clothes!

It isn’t as if pop music sensation Pink is a shy one.  It wasn’t that long ago, of you remember, she made a video where she makes out with a woman… herself.  And we have all basically seen her naked already; she’s obviously not all that big into clothes.  And yet, here we fin ourselves with even more.

You probably would never have guessed that these pictures would come from the 2010 Grammy Awards; but the Grammy Awards is in fact the site of the latest Pink flashing.

Adorned in little more than sequins, Pink raised quite a stir at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

It begs the question, though,  How much is too much?  There are a number of female singers in the entertainment world who need to make up for a lack of talent by milking their commercial sexuality.  Pink is not among them.  She has a modicum of actual ability, and isn’t one who is dependant on her image.  It changes frequently, in fact.

So why?  It would appear that what we have is another classic case of a celebrity who has forgotten her role as a role model (one which she very vocally claimed not too long ago) in leau of the notion that the world wants to see her naked, again and again.

Show a bit of class, maybe?  This isn’t a case of forcing the position of role model onto someone who never asked for it.  Pink did a spot on Spongebob Squarepants, for crying out loud.

Put some clothes on, instead of running around on television during family time.  My 10 year old daughter was watching.  Nice message, Pink.  Shows class.

     Thoughts?

Now, what woman out there doesn’t want to be able to say she has the body to pull off a suit like that?

Well, at any rate, it would be nice to see more woman relying on their talent rather than their bodies – for the sake of all of us average woman in the world!

I think she had the best performance overall. Beyonce was a complete joke. I had to turn the tv off when she started singing Alanis.

Why does Pink feel the need to do that she’s talented enough she doesn’t need to strip off to help her music. More bout the creative and less about the image is needed in the music industry not enough emphasis is placed on creative talent

It isn’t that this performer isn’t talented. She’s got the musical chops that so many boring, churned out female artists out there don’t have. It’s just that in today’s society, the only things kids see is sex and sexuality, and sex=money. Women are forced to place themselves into a limelight based on selling their sexuality because that’s how women sell their records. Sad and unfortunate but true. You wouldn’t see a man dressed like that hanging around in the sky, selling his giggleberries… No one wants to see that…lol.

I love pink. I find it brilliant that she can wear what she wants and be comfertable with it. It’s not like she’s ’skinny’ she’s a pretty average women, which is what we need more of. I would rather kids look up to this than an anorexic super model.

To a certain extent; I do agree. When we have children who look up to these performers we do expect a certain level of maturity and class on their parts. Yet, I also think we need to take this performance with a grain of salt. I have a 10yr old and 14yr old daughter. If I were asked who I would prefer my kids look up to; Pink or Britney Spears? My answer would be Pink. Compared to what some of these pop-stars have done with their lives, Pink is pretty tame. Wearing a body stocking covered in glitter is more appealing than let’s say Britney, simulating foreplay with 10-15 women and men on stage.

Pink’s outfit looks to me to be like some sort of utility suit with lot of recycled material and silk cord bungee straps, held in place by translucent lycra/spandex and recycled natural fiber material that is probably sturdier than most of my summer gear.

The cost of the bungee straps is only about $200, and the lycra spandex kevlar blend costs about $250 per yard. The teflon mylar glitter probably was made from scrap from another outfit, and the designer maybe spend $50 on larger jewels, and the glues and thread probably only priced in at about another $50 so, the materials for the outfit cost “only” about $600.

Sure, I could wear a cut-to-size lawn and leaf bag held together for a trial fitting with scrap leatherette straps backed with a $25 per yard silk and linen blend, however, the look would not be the same. That’s about all I could afford, people.

Ladies and gentlemen, don’t try this one at home.

I think that Pink is comfortable with herself and promotes good body image. No one forces her to take off her clothes, and she is extremely successful with her music. It’s a matter of choice, and I think she delivers the message that it’s okay to be comfortable and happy with what you have.

Kids as young as six have been brought to Pink concerts. Cannot understand why parents would allow their young children endure the noise in addition to the possibility of her arriving on stage wearing very little. It is cheaper to buy all her cds.
