Remember His Music
Michael Jackson created decades of music in the midst of medical scares and controversy this article discuses the one thing we should always remember, his music.
Riding in the car with my parents, sometimes belted in my seatbelt Michael Jackson music would be playing on the radio. Songs like “Happy” and “We’re almost there” blaring on the radio with our heads bopping side to side.
I remember my early days, being in middle school, going to the roller rink and skating to the good ole Michael Jackson music. We would all stand in line at the DJ booth just to request Beat It, over and over again. By the time I would get to the window the DJ knew exactly what I would request.
Time went by, skates came off, and my feet hit the dance floor and now I was dancing to Thriller over and over again. The song was addicting and one of my favorites of all times. Actually it is many people’s favorites. Just look at You Tube at all the reenactments of the song.
And in 1984, we all were glued to our televisions waiting for news as in a freak accident Michael Jackson was burned while working on a Pepsi commercial. Tears fell from my cheeks as I wondered if he was going to be okay. And all of his fans cheered his happy return. It was like he was part of our family.
And right in the middle of all the wonderful news and music came the allegations of sexual abuse. Many of us did not want to believe it. And truth be told we will never know what really happened. If the allegations were true, I feel for the children and the families.
And now we are left with rumors that maybe he is still alive, maybe it was a stunt double pretending to be him. We are left with his music. It is something that no one can ever take from us. We can all stick our CD’s in our stereo’s and sing and dance along and remember the good old days. Heck we can even create new memories with his music. We have his music. His music is what no one can take. Remember his music now and forever.
