Michael Jackson will not only be remembered for his music and dance, but also his kind donations and willingness to help people and especially children around the world.

With the death of the pop start Michael Jackson, most of us remembered him of his glorious days in the music industry where he was labeled the “King of Pop”, won many music awards and became the idol of many. He is also remembered of his unique dance moves and doing the moonwalk. But, all these were in the music scenes and the music industry. But, Michael Jackson also has many significant accomplishments out of the music industry. He has touched the lives of many, not only with his songs and music, but also with his kindness and donations across the world.

Here are some of Michael Jackson’s greatest accomplishments that were not related to the music industry.

  1. In 1984, Michael Jackson donated $1.5 million to Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, California where he was treated for burns on his scalp while filming a Pepsi commercial. The $1.5 million was a compensation paid to him by Pepsi Co. and he used this money as a donation to improve the technology and equipments in Bortman Medical Center for treating burn victims. In the same year, Michael also donated $5 million of the profits made from Victory Tour to charity.
  2. In 1985, Michael Jackson together with his good friend, Lionel Richie wrote the single “ We Are The World” that sold almost 20 million copies across the world where that charity project raised millions of dollars for the famine relief. In that same year, Michael donated $500,000.00 to the united Negro College Funds.
  3. In 1992, Michael Jackson founded “Heal The World Foundation”. This foundation is to help underprivileged children around the world who were threatened by illness and war. In this same year, Michael also donated all the profits from Dangerous World Tour to the “Heal The World Foundation”.
