Many people still might think that the famous Bill Gates who earned most of his fortune by pure luck is still the richest person in the world. Unfortunately, he has not been able to hold his title anymore. In fact, he is not even the second richest person in the world.

1: Warren Edward Buffett is now officially the wealthiest person on this planet. Most people wouldn’t have guessed he would be the most richest person – because he has recently donated billions of money to charities. Unfortunately, many people might not have even known that he was the richest person in this world! But, like the old cliché states – “you do good, good things happen to you.” Mr. Buffett owns a grand total of $62 billion. He is also, America’s most beloved investor. His father was a politician in Nebraska. As a young boy, he delivered newspapers for simple money and filed his first tax return at age 14 – and he claimed $35 deduction for the bicycle he bought – a born investor indeed.

2: So many of you people think Mexican’s are poor eh? This person will make you think again! Carlos Slim Helú from Mexico is the second richest person on this beloved earth. He is the proud owner of $60 billion. Mr. Buffett and Mr. Carlos have been fighting for the number one position since a long time.

3: William H. Gates III: Now here’s a favourite! Bill Gates the world renowned has a net worth of $58 billion. Unfortunately, his wealth does not increase as rapidly as it used to. He dropped out of Harvard University 13 years ago to start the world famous Microsoft Company that he now owns.

4: Lakshmi Mittal, the fourth richest person in the world is Indian, but lives in UK. He has $45 billion. He is the owner of the world’s largest steelmaker company, ArcelorMittal, which accounts for 10% of all steel production. It just delivered a massive amount of steel for the construction of the World Trade Center memorial in New York.

5:  Mukesh Ambani, is Asia’s richest person who is also Indian. He is the head of PetroChemicals giant Reliance Industries, one of India’s most valuable company. His fortune is $22.9 billion since last year, making him the world’s second-biggest gainer of money (dollars). His current net worth is $43 billion making him the fifth richest man on this planet. Mr. Ambani is so rich, that he is building a 27-story home that has a net worth of $1-2 billion.
