Rock Star Obama’s American Idol Bank is Loaded
America’s First Family oozes star power.
Who would have ever thought we’d have rock stars living in the White House? President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle have a following second to none. Maybe I missed it. Did the First Family win on American Idol?

Malia and Sasha Exude Star Potential
Even their precious daughters, Malia and Sasha, have marketers salivating over their smiles and Inauguration Day fashions. I suggest the girls at least consult with Paula Abdul and Ryan Seacrest before signing any contracts in order to maximize their Obama star potential.
First Family Obamas Exhibit American Idol-like Tendencies
Think about it. When David (either Cook or Archuleta – it doesn’t matter) gets introduced, what happens? The girls scream.
When Carrie Underwood takes the stage, she receives a standing ovation.
When the First Family dances, preaches, speaks, waves, or smiles, what happens? Citizens transform into fans and scream their heads off. Is this the Beatles in the ’60’s or what?

Much of the Obama credibility is derived from their popularity. Their popularity stems from their smiles, their personalities, and their ability to speak clearly and persuasively – in short, their star power. Their American Idol style star power.
Has any other politician in the history of humanity garnered this kind of popularity? Kennedy? Lincoln? Washington? Stalin? Hitler? Alexander? Caesar?
I doubt it. Especially not in today’s media-soaked universe.
No Bailout Needed: American Idol Bank is Loaded
If President Obama encounters any political trouble, all he needs to do is make a withdrawal of credibility from the American Idol Bank (AIB). Even in today’s horrid economy, AIB has plenty of reserves to lend a President who is long on style.
America has placed all her hopes in President Obama to bring about change. Can he perform? We shall see, but we do thank you, Mr. President, for rising to the occasion, turning down the lights, and seeing how loud you can get the crowd to scream. [Note to star-struck Americans: President Obama is also serious about turning around the economy, improving health care, and keeping our nation safe. Just thought I would let you know in case you’ve looked past his words in favor of his persona.

Obama Popularity: Dancing with the Stars 2009 Here We Come
The question is, How long will the Obama popularity remain? Rock stars come and go, but true stars have staying power. I predict President Obama will be the man for a long time, regardless of his political successes or his policy failures.
America likes rock stars. America loves American Idol. Oh, have you heard the news? America and President Obama will be partners on Dancing with the Stars 2009. Get ready to scream.

Haven’t you noticed? This is the age of the Rennaisance celebrity: they don’t stay in their categories anymore. Rock stars get their own reality shows, actors record music (David Hasselholf?- only in Germany!), actors become politicians, politicians have always been actors, Paris Hilton is … well, she’s just famous. Celebrity doesn’t need a reason anymore.

Nice work, Brian.
It seems like it’s normal for people to rally behind a popular leader. I was just watching some old clips of Presidential inaugurations and I noticed all the ticker tape, marching bands and screaming from yesteryear- people had pictures of FDR and Eisenhower on their bedroom walls… and Hitler and Caesar put their faces on everything! To quote Ecclesiastes: there is nothing new under the sun.

This morning I saw Hillary Clinton in TV, speeched to restore kind of American military power in Indonesia. She said while smiling, “I don’t need to remind everybody, that US new president is well admired here.” It means that like Hollywood, Obama mania is not only happen in U.S. Its been global phenomenon.
An interesting piece, Brian.

WELL….I have two different views depending on how you want the article to be read. Should I take the words at face value or look for hidden meanings?

I would have been a lot happier if I had read this yesterday; before Obama railroaded through his 1,000 page legislation that even his supporters admitted they didn’t read before voting, and that has promised thousands of jobs not only to Americans but also to illegal aliens – even promising them permanent visas as part of the package. Charisma he has! Good for the country? We’ll see.

I appreciate you bringing into balance the accalades of his mere charisma with the reality of tough challenges ahead. Serious about changes he may be, but his kind of change may not be for me. He is my President now, and I have not been swept off my feet, nor do I want a rock star for President, but I will do all I can to speak positive of him, and disagree without disrespecting the office of the President. I do hope he does well, but not with a bunch of “enabling” bailout efforts that burden the “working America” with endless handouts to those individuals who will not work, and to irresponsible businesses.
Enough said. I am praying for you Mr. President. May God bless you with wisdom to know and do the noble, honorable, peaceable, and virtuous thing always. If you error, I pray you will make things right in the fullness of dignity and integrity of character. In Jesus name.
