Sexy Starlets: Overexposed?
Young female stars of Hollywood are accused of dressing too sexy, acting too lewd…and in general corrupting our youth.
Are they true nymphets that need to be brought under control? Or is our society seeing seduction where there is none?

You could say it all started with Brittney Spears (although I suspect she wasn’t the first to be labeled a nymphet – have you seen Annette Funicello’s bikini?) At the age of 16 she shot the music video that sparked her career. In “Baby One More Time”, Spears wore a catholic school uniform and moved her hips. At times Spears would look right into the camera with a come-hither stare. It seemed she was telling us, she wasn’t as “innocent” as she looked… she knew exactly what she was doing.
Most recently another Disney starlet has made controversy with her sexy ways. 16 year-old Miley Cyrus was accused of doing a seductive pole dance during her performance at the Teen Choice Awards. Yes, there was a pole. Yes, she squatted down on it. But the lone questionable dance move was so short that if you blinked, you missed it.
And just as current as Labor Day weekend, a new controversy emerged. This one surrounding a picture of 15 year-old Tallulah Willis showing cleavage while partying. Celebrity Blogger Perez Hilton chastised her mother, Demi Moore, for allowing her young daughter to dress so scantily. While Demi has shot back, calling Hilton a pervert for how he’s perceived the photos.
For a true look at an unquestionable nymphet, read Vladimir Nabakov’s “Lolita”.
