Sharon Osbourne and Her Family
by Women’s day month just drew to a close but a praise for a remarkable woman doesn’t warrant any special occasion.
Recently it was reported that Sharon Osbourne got angry regarding a question asked about her family’s status with relevance to their upcoming “reloaded” family show. Just plain old questioning. Nothing to be offended about. But if you are the matriarch of a family who had kept every tattered piece together since 1982 the interviewer was still lucky that nothing came flying his way. Not that it was possible in a telephone interview. Still, if I were in Sharon Osbourne’s position, it would be a definite sure that that interviewer would still live up only to the time to see me make his day.
How dare anybody plaster in a mother’s face the fact, and undoubtedly a sensitve fact, what the world knows already about her family and what everyone would always infamously remember them for?
Watching the reruns of her family’s beloved former show, “The Osbournes”, catches me holding my breath with each and every mention of their family’s magical “f” word. It was a show that the producers were probably first trying to see whether America and hopefully the world would get to appreciate and see the real message it was conveying. But the world discovered much more. Behind each and every take in that candid reality show, one thing is evident: the woman we grew to love named Sharon which we look out for to handle, make sense out of or just plainly react to each and every situation.
In many, obviously, off guarded moments, she acts out what we hope we just didn’t see. In that respect she may not be your mother or my mother but I do have the funny feeling that we may turn out to be like her someday. Considering how she kept her family together since she got married to the very controversial, man with many children named Ozzy in 1982, now, that is something worth aspiring for. And nothing bad to aspire for either.
If you were in Sharon Osbourne’s position who has a husband who flirts with drugs and alcohol and has two kids who have, each, histories with rehab; what, where and how do you think you’d find yourself now?
Instead Sharon Osbourne bore it all and made it all look easy by focusing on what she can do and what she can do best. She became a very successful producer of various television shows to add to her main management black belts.
