Solitary MAN a Story of a Man Conquering Women
It’s time for Michael Douglas was given the Lifetime Achievement award obtained by his father, Kirk Douglas. In every appearance of Michael Douglas, we have always sucked in by the charisma of an actor acting. Either the husband is trapped in the affairs of the weekend in Fatal Attraction (Adrian Lyne, 1987);

conglomerate that has been glorifying greed and evil on Wall Street (Oliver Stone, 1987); a detective who was involved in a relationship with a novelist’s heat in Basic Instinct (Paul Verhoeven, 1993); a computer expert accused of sexually abusing his superior in the Disclosure (Barry Levinson, 1994), or a man who loses his job, his wife and family in the film Falling Down (Joel Schumacher, 1992); or the Attorney General that his daughter hunter drug network itself is a cocaine addict in Traffic (Steven Soderbergh, 2000) .
In each film, we see Michael Douglas has always managed to become a man of punk, arrogant, and feel entitled to everything, but we still feel that life is fragile and lonely pride behind it. In the film Solitary Man, Michael Douglas role as Ben Kalmen, father, grandfather, ex-husband, and lover of a wealthy woman named Jordan (Mary-Louise Parker). Kalmen everyday is known as leading a successful car salesman and womanizer of all ages.
One day, the doctor said there was something in his heart that needs to be examined further. Rather than undergo further tests, Kalmen decided to hit the gas in his life that have been deemed too stable and predictable. He’s looking for fun and insanity. Kalmen playing women; waste of money until forced to constantly borrow money for their children, Susan (Jenna Fischer). In situations that have been battered, Kalmen still felt that he was still a successful man who is able to conquer a woman. On the way to the university campus to accompany the children from Jordan, his girlfriend, Kalmen as in the past when he was young, shiny, and men conquering women.
It also encourages Kalmen seduce a child and then girlfriend, Allyson (Imogen Poots), up to bed. The scandal that finally he really comes down to a lower level of humanity. A man sleeping with her lover boy? Michael Douglas brings the whole conceit, ketengilan, it is well mixed with the stupidity of a man who refuses to face the day to dusk. Behind the rest of his good looks and cleverness stringing words, we see images Kalmen that looked so old and tired in the morning. Her body looks so strong at night, after sex, the body was wrapped in wrinkled skin and a pair of hollow heart was torn pride.
Kalmen represent the people who reject human limitations. Refusing to grow old age (what a funny scene with Kalmen fuss that refused to be called “Grandpa” by his grandchildren, because there is a pretty girl passes) and ignore the fact that his life was ruined. Duo directors Brian Koppelman and David Levien have managed to bring Michael Douglas on the cusp of his career he’s acting. When finally there is also a beautiful student who dared to resist Kalmen dirayunya is rare before the reality hit Kalmen: not everyone sebejat himself. The final scene, when his ex-wife, Nancy (played very well and smoothly by Susan Sarandon), offers to take her to the doctor, we then move very quickly. He was finally out, he stands to receive that day was dusk and the sun will sink.
