Susan Boyle Recovering Nicely After a Frenzied Seven Weeks
Susan is on the mend.
Our favorite performer, Susan Boyle, is on the mend. Susan is recovering nicely, following some much needed R’n'R.
Susan was supposed to have had a mental breakdown. It’s interesting that some writers seemed eager to jump on a person with earlier mild learning difficulties and tried to make a case that such a person was somehow more fragile than the rest of us and a perfect candidate for a breakdown.
I find this outrageous. How insulting to Susan and others who have had to overcome challenges. Writers related that Susan “reportedly” had a mental breakdown, without citing any reliable sources. Shame on those who would create sensational headlines to sell copy.
Piers Morgan, one of the Britain’s Got Talent judges, set the record straight with his common-sense remarks about how Susan’s behavior had been highly exaggerated, how negative press and lack of sleep had impacted on Susan’s health.
How would the rest of us have reacted to instant fame, persistent reporters, and none-stop activity? How would we have fared, having had to sit on the hot seat for seven weeks?
I think the most remarkable facet of this story is that Susan did as well as she did. In spite of initial sneers and sniggers, in spite of being thrown into the spotlight, Susan rose to the challenge. How many of us could have pulled off that near-flawless final performance?
Susan demonstrated that she has what it takes to be a performer, not only with her vocal ability but in being able to withstand incredible pressure.
A measure of a person’s strength is being able to rise to an occasion and pull it off, in spite of everything. Susan did that. If she needs time to recover in the aftermath, all the more power to her.

Hello Christine,
Thank you for you comments. It’s a sad fact that headlines sell papers and the more sensational, the more attention they attract.

Apparently, Susan has performed for the BGT tour and has once again silenced the critics. She is looking better than ever.
