THE Dance of THE Sheep
It is a post against the "X-Factor Star" system, and looks for a real hero who will give jobs and have positive thinking.
We have been in a recession period for many years now. Very few jobs are being created, however we are focusing more on a system that makes “stars” of people through celebrity competitions. This is a good opportunity for all kinds of “star makers” to promote themselves and to give some hope to those who are outsiders and cannot find a job or don’t want to work. It is an easy way of becoming an overnight success. IS IT?
Do you remember the 1969 film “They shoot horses, don’t they?” This film focused on a disparate group of characters desperate to win a dance marathon and the opportunistic emcee that urges them on to victory. In the 1930’s the American Government encouraged people in the field of art to do anything to keep people’s minds off of the troublesome times they were living in. Nowadays with so many entertainment shows prizing the best dancer, the best singer, the best thinker, etc. we are again in a Depression-era divertissement period. Are the sheep dancing?
We are losing jobs, what caused it? Only few jobs are created, why? Do we have a lack of imagination, why? Are we only fit to be exposed to a jury and betting on the horses, which are killed at the end because they cannot win? Does everybody want to be famous, even though they have no real talent? Does everybody follow the first sheep, even if it leads him to a mental breakdown and fatal conclusion?
Nothing is eternal. There are ways to sustain our business environment, but no one seems to have the right answers to this problem.
I am not a sheep, but I need money to live. I do not want to be a celebrity. I just want to be a Human Being with some wealth, health and certainly dignity. I would appreciate to see Governments giving some money to support and encourage constructive thinking, innovations, creations, and not watch so many shows offering lots of money just to be recognised as a “star”.
The Hero of our todays’ recession will be the one who creates and gives jobs.
