The Essence of Existence

What is our purpose in life ? What is the purpose of our existence ? Why is happiness difficult to achieve ? Why is a lifetime equates suffering ? How can we attain fulfillment in this world ? Why do we have to suffer before we could attain happiness ?

Life is a journey. We live. We work. We blend with nature and society. We survive. However, this process isn’t easy. Obstacles and sufferings are met along the way. How can we go through life ? How can we survive in spite of all the trials ?

Life is like a river. We ride on the boat of life. Where we’re going, we do not know. We strive to paddle to follow the stream, however, we are unsure if how and when we will reach the horizon.

We live. We seek for happiness… but happiness is just too distant to achieve. We strive hard to be happy but sometimes to attain it, some people are hurt along the way. Other people become happy, but it’s us who feels the pain. Why can’t all of us just aim for one thing and reach it together ? Why do people have to be different and compete with each other ?

We work. We strive to earn a living. Day and night we make ourselves busy hoping that by working so hard, we could attain our dreams. But most of the time, it isn’t enough. Food alone takes all the money that we have. Leaving us nothing to spend for other needs, for something else.

We love. But love means pain. Why can’t we love someone and be happy at the same time ? Why does loving means being hurt ? Once we love, we have to be ready for all the pain brought by it. We have to be strong. But are we strong enough to face all the trials that we meet along the way ?

We survive. Whatever life brings us, we strive hard to overcome it. It may not be easy but we have to keep on fighting. The road to happiness isn’t easy but nevertheless, we still manage to overcome it, we live.
