The Fall of an Icon
The truth about the death of Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson, the musical phenomena of the century (next to Prince), has astounded audiences for most of the fifty years he has existed. From the creation of the amazing family band of the Jackson Five, to the incredible dance choreography in Thriller, he has been the sole linchpin in both ventures. His ability to croon the emotions that lurk in the hearts of people everywhere, and then adding his own personal dance steps, has made him a beloved part of almost every family throughout the world.
A small boy and his brothers, from Gary, Indiana (with the help of the infamous Joe Jackson), were able to become superstars at such an early age. Unlike most one hit wonders, or fad groups, Michael Jackson’s career would span for over four decades, leaving in its wake a boat load of unanswered questions, controversy, and speculation. The only thing that anyone could be absolutely certain about, is that Michael Jackson would die as he lived…an enigma.
From all the mystery that has surrounded the King Of Pop, nothing with plague the world more than the cause of his demise. Was it the constant and abusive use of prescription medication (which he was no longer prescribe to have) which aided in his death, or the years of strange diets, rituals, and cosmetic surgery that help punch his ticket?
Well, let’s examine the facts: At the time of death, Michael Jackson’s home was a virtual drugstore. With the presence of Demerol, Oxycontin, and other doctor prescribed pain medication, any man would succumb to such a lethal cocktail.
Dr. Conrad Murray, a graduate from Meharry Medical College, hired by Michael Jackson as a cardiologist, administering CPR on a patient from a bed, instead of a hard surface, and then fleeing the scene. When he was finally available for questioning, he shows up with his legal mouthpiece.
What we have here is a rich, spoiled man, with the emotional growth of a fifteen year old, and a physician with the moral obligation of a common street drug dealer combined to extinguish a musical talent that will never be duplicated (at least in my lifetime). Bottom line, man wants drugs, man has money to pay for drugs, dealer has access to drugs, man pays dealer, man overdoses, dealer runs, man dies…dealer should go to jail.
