No one breaks up like a celebrity can and does. Marriages are not the only thing that ended in 2008; businesses and partnerships went south and are not returning in the winter. Marriage in the spotlights has to be one of the hardest marriages to keep, yet it can and has been done by several celebrities. It probably helps if one side of the relationship or marriage is not famous, because then they don’t have to worry much about conflicting schedules.

 In 2008 a lot of celebrities broke up and other partnerships split up, but who made the top 10?

      Breaking up is hard to do, but can you imagine doing it in public? It is one thing when it is a business deal or one half of a show leaving for greener pastures, but when it is a relationship or marriage; it is a whole new ballpark. We all sit around talking about what he said and what she said, we talk about who is going to get what in the divorce and how bad someone got it when they have to pay alimony.

   We fans sometimes forget that these are real people and most got married with no intention of ever ending it. On top of that, we sometimes forget about the kids involved, we forget that these celebrities are people and are going through their emotions in the spotlight.

    We see some celebrities divorce in a way that is clean and allows both parties to remain friends for their children’s sake, like Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. That divorce could have been a whole lot nastier, but both chose not to for their kids and I think that is commendable.

    Some stars get married for attention and get divorced for the same reason. I would need all my fingers and toes (probably have to borrow some from friends and family as well), all the stars that I believe get married and divorced for attention. Not to mention getting engaged and unengaged. Celebrities need to realize marriage is not a game or something you enter into lightly. Marriage is supposed to be forever.
