TV Pioneer and Master Chef Keith Floyd Dies
TV pioneer and master chef Keith Floyd dies age 65.
Keith Floyd has died today of a heart attack, at the age of 65. He was suffering from bowel cancer, and the extra pressure on his body may well have been a factor in causing the heart attack.
This is a sad day in the history of televisions, as one of the men responsible for creating an exciting and popular television format has died. He was most famous for knocking back the wine is some obscure location whilst throwing together some crazy meal without recipe or seeming direction.
He has a string of failed businesses and marriages, but he lived life with a reckless zeal. I think that it is this spirit, more than anything else that he will be remembered for. It was his enthusiasm and clear passion for cooking that inspired a generation. Although in many ways he felt that his quest to enliven British cooking failed, in reality he inspired a new joy in cooking, and a new dawn of television.
He lived the high life, and will be remembered as such.
