Who? Stars Who Almost Made It – Part 2

When fifteen minutes of Fame is reduced to Ten.

Some potential stars get unbelievable opportunities, which alas, they really can’t turn into a substantial career.

Sue Lyons received a fantastic opportunity when cast in the leading role of Lolita in 1962.

The movie was the shocker of the year, and Sue Lyons received awards and attention.  Subsequent roles were not as well received and within a few years she was wall paper.

Wayne Maunder got three chances in the late 60s and early 70s to star in three different T.V. serials, beginning with Custer, which was only 17 episodes. This was followed by Lancer, then Chase.

No doubt he had the world’s greatest agent, or connections, yet; his career went no where and I’m sure most of you are asking…Who?

Phoebe Cates came onto the scene in the Made for T.V. drama Lace

Considering the focus on her character, one expected she’d go onwards and upwards, she did get a few more roles, but they weren’t very important, she did marry Kevin Kline.

Robin Givens is probably best known as Mike Tyson’s ex-wife.  Her marriage got her a great deal of attention which she used to her advantage. But one can only do as much as one can with what one really has.

Thanks Leo. The reason these were selected was that at the height of their ‘fame’ they had front covers of mags, they were
    assumed to be tomorrow’s stars.
