Why are We Hounding Tiger Woods?

Why do human beings have a thirst for embarrasing another human being?

I have to say that all this coverage that Tiger Woods has been getting has been very unfair and unjust. You have to look back at the Kate Moss scandal, where she was openly snorting cocaine had all her deals dropped. That is an issue, people might understand.

But here we have Tiger Woods, a fantastic sportsman who have according to rumour had an affair and now he is loosing a large chunk of his income, in spite of the fact that he is still a great sportsman. Do you mean to tell me that a person in a soup kitchen should be earning those endorsements as well because they actually contribute to society a lot more?

The point here is that every person has a right to his privacy. That is a basic human right and a right that the Americans preach and use as justification for wars etc. Certain liberties like these are necessary for humanity to have freedom. So he had an affair? I would never sanction it as the morally correct thing, but he has not molested children (another global idol), committed rape (fantastic film director) or murdered anybody (every war-time president or prime minister of our time). Yet people are reveling in kicking a dog while he’s down. This is the most disturbing thing for me. How fickle humanity is.

I am an Ernie Els / Retief Goosen fan when it comes to golf, and it would be great for them to have a shot at number one if Tiger stops paying golf well, but the fact is that he is still unbeatable in many ways. So it has nothing to do with liking the man and ignoring the deed.

I wish him luck and hope that if these rumours are true that he and his wife can work through the problems and it is not for us to discuss. Would you want your dirty laundry out there? Preserve basic human rights and leave people to have their privacy. Only invade on that privacy if it is causing harm or is against the law.

society as a whole dont have interesting lives, so they latch onto someone whos famous who you dont usually hear much news about, i suupose if he was on everywhere like peter and jordon theres no point talking about them as it has all been said and they are in your face.
