Wild Horses Can’t Drag Us Away From Susan Boyle
When Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones recorded “Wild Horses” in 1969 they could not have predicted that 40 years later a wee Scot’s lass would be captivating the world with her cover version.

Susan Boyle bought the crowd to their feet again last night with her rendition of the Stones favourite at the final of America’s got Talent. Here was a woman who having won the acclaim of Britain on her television debut was pipped at the post in the final of the British event. It would seem wild horses were dragging her off the stage and just a short while later we heard that she was in total collapse. Well those wild horses could not drag her away and here she was again last night singing her heart out and winning the hearts of another nation with a song that was penned when she was only 8 years old, one that the world has rocked to for four decades. This Rolling Stones favourite has been given yet another breath of life and has mellowed to a classic.

Preceeding her introduction a film clip detailed Susan’s emergence onto the world stage. Like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon and becoming more noticeable and accomplished as time goes by. Susan commanded the stage last night. She looked the world right in the eye and told everyone that wild horses were not going to drag her away from the spotlight. America responded with hearty applause and at least for the moment Susan was the first horse past the post. She was the winner on the night, she stole the show.
