Can Prince William or Prince Harry Fill Their Mother’s Shoes?
Prince William and Prince Harry are getting older and both want to continue the charity work their family have done for generations. Their Mother the late Princess Diana was world renowned for her big heart and generous charity work.
The prince’s Grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and their father Prince Charles also give generously to many charities they support.
On September 23,2009 Prince William told the BBC ” I’m not just an ornament.” As he held a press conference for the local media Prince William told them that he and his brother Harry wanted to build upon their charity. Giving the understanding that they are not in their parents or the Queens ” league”.
Are they both following in their Mom’s footsteps? Princess Diana had been criticized by many about her hands on charity work. She had a lot of empathy for the people she served. And such a big heart with so many charities. It seems that England’s two Princes want to do the same ” hands ” the charities they support.
Prince William stated to the in his BBC interview “But I think there’s an awful lot more from actually doing stuff. And this is an example of what I just want to be actually more involved in.” Some of the charities Prince William and Prince Harry are involved are the following. Well child for helping sick children. They also include Mountain rescue to benefit the homeless. And Welsh Rugby.
A friend of their mother Julia Samuel founder of the Child Bereavement Charity, believes that both inherited great qualities from their mother. Examples of her great qualities are listening and communication. As each prince get’s older time will show that both are worthy of the charity work their family has done for generations. Prince William believes the following.”Even if it just changes one person’s view on something for the positive, as far as I’m concerned, then it’s been a success,”
Both Princes will be watched very closely by many on what they do with money and grants they give to charities. As well on how “hands on ” they will be with each charity . It is this writer’s opinion that they do have big shoes to fill. But, they will not disappoint .
