Have You Performed a Miracle Lately?

I truly believe that miracles are performed daily by people like you and I. Why not tap into your potential and perform one today?

Each of us has within us the ability to perform a miracle. I knew that when I came home on leave during Christmas holidays and saw my aunt lying on the bathroom floor unconscious. Just having completed my CPR class I quickly began applying what I learned and was rewarded by her face resuming the natural color along with a puzzled look as she sat up. The gift of life is such a wondrous miracle, and what better time to celebrate it than Christmas?

The Miracle of Life

Anyone who has given birth or fathered a child also knows that overpowering feeling of having created a miracle. The euphoria is a marvelous natural high, close to what I felt when I first learned, and wrote about Suzie and Sylvan and the Boo Boo Zoo. If you read and remember the story it was about a young woman named Suzie who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Although the doctors gave her a grim prognosis, God had another in mind.

Suzie Finds a Man and a Cause

She met her dream man. She did not want to get involved in a long term relationship not knowing how long she had, but Sylvan, the man who deeply loved her, was not ready to give up on her either. He enlisted the help of a doctor who treated illness with healthy food, vitamins and herbs. The doctor advised Sylvan that Suzie needed a cause, something deeper to fight for. To make a long story short, their cause became the East Maui Animal Refuge. It was here that Suzie’s cancer remission was one of many miracles that soon followed. The love Suzie and Sylvan share for another overflows into the wonderful care that is provided for orphaned and injured animals that would probably suffer and die if not for the EMAR or Boo Boo Zoo as Suzie fondly calls it.

They Struggle to Pay the Bills

Last year in my eagerness to get the story in print, I printed an error, which one of their volunteers, Brooke was kind enough to point out to me. One of my sources stated the property for the zoo had been donated, but sadly this was not true. They are working hard to make ends meet. Their staff is made up completely of volunteers who give of the love in their hearts. Follows is the first article I printed and a newsletter from their site:
