Helping Charitable Causes During The Recession: Should We?

Exploring the possibility of helping charitable causes during this recession and whether or not we should be doing so during the financial recession.

The financial recession hits everyone very hard, especially charities as they rely on donations, which are mainly funded from our disposible income.

I have recently helped a new charity to setup in Berkshire. They are giving people whose time in hospital didn’t quite go to plan the ability to go and see their family member or loved one by reimbursing them financially for up to 4 trips a week. It is a most wonderful cause, and I personally have already donated a considerable amount of my time and a small amount of money. They are available for all to see at http://www.cfaq.co.uk

In doing so, I have been able to see what a struggle it is for charities to stay afloat in the current market, and how much they rely on us. So yes, charities do still need our support. No matter how small the amount you can give is, it is support all the same.

When you see the amount of work that goes into a charity on a daily basis to keep the charitable operation going for those that depend on it most, you soon realise that it is a lot of work that needs to be funded and without all of our help it would not be possible to do so. We are losing our charitable causes at an ever increasing rate at the moment, and for the British people, this comes at a time when we need them the most.

You would be wise to remember that a majority of the charities in the UK are not eligable for grants or assistance from the state, and are forced to rely on the donations of the local and wider community.
