Let’s Join Hands and Make a Difference
The world can be a very harse place to be, but with help from people like you and me we can make a difference.

I have always cared about people and the quality of life. I have seen and gone through myself a lot and understand what it is like to struggle and try to keep my head above water.
Now that I am older and life has settled down at least for the time being. I decided I want to help those less fortunate.
I have honestly been thinking about opening a homeless shelter and at this moment I am trying to learn the ins and outs of how to go about it. It seems our government has no money with the condition of the economy so grants and funding is quite minimal. I did not get discouraged with this news instead I decided to go down another avenue.
With the publication of my new book Heartfelt Emotions and having a website that I had just let Google adsense take over I decided that ya maybe I could make a difference.I had some clout and I also have a lot of friends online.
So this morning I decided to take back my website and throw google adsense out and turn it into a place dedicated to helping the homeless. I also made the decision that 25 % of all my book sales will be donated to helping the homeless too.
With winter fastly approaching the North east it has been driving me crazy seeing people sleeping in the streets in 30 degree weather. No home, no coats, no food, and no one who seems to care. Limited shelters offer beds and help of any kind. Many have outside people who donate time and food to help, but they are very few and seem a lot have exausted their assets.
I know I am only one person and not rich by any means, but I also know that I have more than many of these people. Families living in their cars because during the resession jobs have been lost and so have homes but I also believe that if I reach my hand out to all of you across the globe an if and if all of us hold hands and do this venture together we all can make a difference.
I know some people have very low views on the homeless but unlike many of you think many of these peole are well educated and do not have mental illness, but instead just down on their luck with no place to go and no one to turn to.
Thats why my website has been transformed into a place for everyone to go and donate for this cause. Maybe you yourself cannot afford to make a donation through Paypal , but still want to help this cause and one good way for that to happen is to direct everyone on your friends list and their friends list to the site to donate.
I truly believe if we all join hands and fight for this cause, together we can make a difference.

I commend your efforts, I am more of a PAW holder myself, helping homeless pets. But I want to wish you well. Plus, as I do not live in the USA, I feel it is important to help homelessness in my own country first, its colder here!

Classy move Linda, but then I wouldn’t expect anything less from you. I was going to ask for the link but clicked on the highlighted my and found it.We do often give the local homeless food from Jack in the Box, it’s not much but they get food in their belly for the night at least.I can’t donate right now but maybe next week.

@ B Nelson I also live in the United States… and Bo thanks for doing your part. This is truly an important issue. For the past 2 weeks when I go to work there has been a young girl sleeping outside on the sidewalk. I really want to help her. She doesnt even have a coat and it has been really cold here. I am sick of just sitting back and not even trying to help these people. So many just walk past as if they are not even there….

Good work on your part. We all must help where we can. All my effort goes to our local Care Center which does a wonderful job with the homeless and hungry here.

I think there will be no one homeless in USA , they can work..think about those countries who lives in mountains ,on deserts, in camps.Bcz they are either very poor to live in homes or their homes are destroyed in wars.
you all will cry day and night if something happens with you , iam not blaming that fight in afghnistan is either by pakistanis, americans, russia or any other country but its the only politics who doing all this.
Afghanistan is poor country who cant even make a spoon, how can make rockets, bombs, guns and will fight with such a big countries like Russia, USA troops,
We all blame Taliban,Do u guys ever thought who is Talib and how did came 2 Afghanistan…
First of Talib means Student and Taliban is plural of Students.
They came with supreme power to Afghanistan that to fight with Russian troops, then they got help from surroundings, like food, staying place…then the time came that politician of different countries took help from Taliban.and did politician and the name of taliban was burried and they show the worst side to the world.
What is the difference between taliban times and this new governament time, The crime Range is decressed or Incressed.
Who is Obama ,why he came to Afghanistan, What was the purpose , what was there in Afghanistan that he came and brought Americans there for fight,
Who provide weapons to taliban, Who give money to Taliban,Who support Taliban.
I really want to help my country by leting world to know about facts, i hope u might get this thing little interesting…
Long Live Afghanistan…!!!
Wanna ask anything my id is Lucky1st2002@hotmail.com
We dont need Donation but for God Sake dont call muslim and Afghanistan a terrorist country ….all that is behind the scene is politics…

@Khalid my heart goes out to the entire world when poverty is concerned. I live in the United States thats why I am trying to help here first. I do not believe in wars either, but to be honest there are reasons war exists. If I had my way there would be world peace and no one would ever go to bed hungry. I am not sure what set you off in this article but I think you find it hard to believe there are homeless people in America. I myself find it a tragedy too but it is here as it is in the rest of the world. Afghanistan I know is poor but there is no way I will back the Taliban. remember 911?

@linda first of all i talked about homeless people in afghainstan , when war comes then people loses their homes, children ,even parents.
and u talked about 911 , i know u r well educated but can u think just little, taliban cant even speak english, and leave modern education ,how they can do such big thing, how they can hijack airplane and attack world trade center, you not feel it little strange,
as much i concern it was well planned, bcz if u see the asia map, u will find that afghanistan is located in center of asia, and if american can come to afghanistan then they can control, Iran who has made atom bomb, pakistan ,india and china and russia is surrounded by afghanistan , it might not be the exact reason but i thought so.
iam just 18 and i wont write more about afghanistan or war but it was just about homeless people…take care about ur self and u did a big job, people like u are random,

@ Khalid…You know it would be easy just to delete your comments, but I won’t, I want you and the rest of those who see this article to realize who I am and what I am about. First of all I know where Afghanistan is…my son just came home from 6 months in Kuwait so I know more than you think about the middle east. You don’t talk to an American about the Taliban especially right now. You say they cannot speak English but I know they are smart. In my opinion we should not be there. I feel bad when our boys die and car bombs blow them up. I also feel bad seeing photos of your country. We both love our Countries but this article has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU OR YOUR COUNTRY…..If you read the sign above the picture of the woman and her son it says…..HOMELESS IN AMERICA! I am truly sorry for anyone in the world not having a home, being hungry and bombs blasting throughout any city, but this is the way the world is at the moment so we ALL must bare it. Hopefully one day the world will find peace and NO ONE will ever have to go through this again. I hope this explains more of my article and me. I am NOT THE ENEMY! I am trying to help. Who knows I start in the US and if things go well maybe I will meet you in your Country of Afghanistan….Peace be with you Khalid.

I enjoyed the article – but well done for not taking down the comments. The US has used and abused Afghanistan and the Taliban for their own ends over the past 25 years.
This has helped mutual understanding – well done Linda and Khalid
