Nobel Peace Prize

Constroversy as President Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize.

October 9th 2009 was a bitter-sweet event occurred.  A day which should have been filled with good tidings has been replaced with dissension. Truth be told, I could care less who wins the Nobel Prize.

My life is filled with its own distress and MLK’s life was taken away before my time. History is

a place that lacks peace. Thankfully, Mr. King’s words still lift me to new heights and still

higher hopes. A world filled with blogs and opinion gives this age a new face.  America’s

foundation is cracking like never before. Division is witnessed every day Obama’s name is

mentioned. The first black president could have only won after the worst president ever

(Retraction: Bush is definitely apart of the bottom three); therefore, why all the naysayers?

Common sense should witness fate. Why cause dismay with your opinionated dissolution?

Look at the fact: the names of the nominees will be kept secret for the next 50 years. So I

ask those that say he doesn’t deserve it, who does? Certainly, the man that will get blamed

for Bush’s mistakes should get his fair claim to the fame. Why, because throughout history

Obama will be close to infamy. He was only in office a few weeks and won the Nobel Peace

Prize, they say. And!? Did you forget how he remained dignified during the presidential

debates? Did you forget how he voted against an unjust war before it began? These

statements are not meant to incite but rather enlighten. He may not have done all you

thought he should have done to win, but his winning shows that perhaps America with all her

glory, still lacks genuine understanding. I believe that the Audacity of Hope was birthed from

our fore fathers’ fears. Fears which birthed the dream of a nation, a dream MLK is still waiting

to witness. We are not unified only more dignified. Old folks use to say if you don’t have

nothing nice to say, don’t say nothing! What is done is done. He won please move on;

America does not need ignorance to run rampant the next few weeks. Opinion without proof

only keeps people from seeing the truth. The truth being, we still do not see. America is

living the death of Martin’s dream. Can you honestly say your opinion unifies? God Bless

each and everyone. No matter what we say or how we present it, we are bound by our

deeds, condemned from our words, inspired through our heart’s ability to forgive, set free

with our capacity to imagine, and yet we continue to quibble over mundane things.
