Philanthropy in a Rough Economy
Being charitable on a budget.
Despite the fact that no one seems to have as much (if any) disposable income these days, the world does still turn, and causes still need whatever support we can give them. While most of us are squeezing our budgets until they scream bloody murder, we may not need to cut out all charitable donations. Below is a list of examples of charities / organizations that are happy to accept $25, or less (some of them less than $10).
- ASPCA - a $25 minimum on one-time donations; NO MINIMUM required for monthly donations.
- UNICEF – NO MINIMUM required for a one-time donation; $15 minimum for monthly donations.
- Humane Society of the United States – they’re minimum for a one-time donation is $35, which sets them over the threshold of this article’s $25 or less litmus test, however; $10 minimum for monthly donations, brings them back into the fold.
- Ocean Conservancy – a $25 minimum on one-time donations; $8 minimum for monthly donations.
- World Wildlife Fund – NO MINIMUM ($25 is the lowest suggestion but any amount can be entered in the box below) required for one-time donations; $5 minimum for monthly donations.
- ChildFund International – a $25 minimum on one-time donations.
- Native American Heritage Association – No MINIMUM required for either one-time or monthly donations.
