Salvation Army Donations Study
An article describing a Salvation Army donation study made an idea pop up. It is written down to help out as much as possible not to make a billion dollars in some investment,
The article I have just read told a lot about the Salvation Army. It helps to know that organization started helping the needy back in 1890 not in the nineteen sixties. It makes me feel like they probably work for society well enough to keep around. Therefore I decided to write down the idea that popped into my mind.
A study has been done to try and find out if an attended Salivation Army kettle or unattended Salvation Army kettle receives the higher amount of donations. The people running it had set out a red kettle marked Salvation Army in a Wal Mart entrance. According to store hours the study was executed and the total amount of money donated under each situation was calculated. They had even figured out how the gender of the person making a donation made a difference if someone was there to receive it or not.
My idea is that some competition might help the Salvation Army out. People tend to try to be sweeter than others when they feel it will help them out. It might help raise more money if the volunteer receiving donations was competing openly against the unattended process. The volunteer might be able to become sweeter when some money is handed over. The increased gratitude could make everyone willing to donate feel a lot better.
This little bit of competition doesn’t have to be limited to the two mentioned ways. If the people who volunteer to receive the donations started competing with each other they still could become sweeter. It might also help all the prospective individuals to learn about this kind of competition.
Just about everyone in the United States enjoys watching some sports. They will give up some fishing trip to stay home and watch some playoff. I can easily imagine some people going to several of the Salvation Army kettles and handing over some money to see if more gratitude is offered at this one or the others.
Laughter rules when the only prize given to someone that has been able to receive more donations than any others is something like a public pat on the back done on the TV by someone in charge.
