Conviction
What it is exactly to be a person of conviction and how to apply it to life.
The greatest speakers and most influential people in society all possessed one sole characteristic that set them apart from the rest. Like top vendors of values and representatives of idealism they possessed conviction when others held onto their ability to adapt and conform to those who had the passion and conviction they lacked. In anything one does in life conviction is rising to the top as one of the valuable components of success. Desire and passion without conviction is like having a car without an engine or a pen without ink, completely useless. In order to effectively convey an opinion or a message to one or a million, conviction is vital. Hitler, Marx, King Jr. and Malcolm had completely different philosophies in life but were admired and seen as godlike to their followers because of their conviction. Their ability to make people believe in what it was that they themselves believed.
Today in 2008 conviction is needed in the effort to reach crowds and make known to the world your individualism. In a world where faith is no longer used as a guideline to life and where minds are ripe for inspiring a voice needs only speak with conviction to be heard. As humans we want to believe in ideals. It makes the days of turmoil and the nights of anguish that much more tolerable. With conviction we inspire and with inspiration we strive for greatness. The problem that lies is that there isn’t any conviction in the world. Everyone is speaking simply to be heard and not understood. The majority speak to flaunt and to hear their own voice. I and those like me speak to create a spark that will ignite the inner flame which drives those who feel that flame pursue greatness. I speak and write with conviction because like the masses I hope and need to feel that there is something greater than what is available now.
And with conviction being applied to every possible area of life I strive and wish to ignite a flame for those who have had their inner fire put out with the lack of passion and conviction that is present. One should believe in principles and ideas because it inspires not because they sound good or it’s all that’s available. Inspiration is what arises from passion combined with conviction and with those two elements all is possible and everything is achievable. A voice without conviction is like a book without words, useless.
