Creation vs Evolution

Everyone takes sides when it comes to creation and evolution but what do they base taking sides on?

Creation and evolution are supported by truths, facts, myths, and history but why is this the way these ideas are supported and from whose perspective is the idea of support taken from? The bigger picture of this argument of creation vs. evolution is that people are taking sides based on their personal or social perspective of the concepts that support each side. All of the concepts: truths, facts, myths, and history ultimately determine the outcome of what people today believe but, this didn’t use to be the case. Belief use to be based only on your culture. Does culture have an impact on belief today? So, to sum it all up, I believe that people are taking sides based on concepts that didn’t use to exist, time changes things.

Truth, fact, myth, and history are four concepts that represent creationism and evolution. Each concept can be separated and defined based on the theories and ideas that creationism and evolution present. Creationism is a belief that is commonly associated with belief in a deity creating all things. If truth is something that is considered to have a profound meaning that is not testable or disputable because it is what you believe, all of these beliefs in how the universe/world was created can be considered truths of the people that have these beliefs. Creationism is a belief so therefore it is a truth because people believe without the presents of facts or figures. Believers of creationism may create variations of the main idea (creationism) in order to try to date the earth but, all ideas are based on the belief in a creator. What you believe is ultimately your truth.

Belief is a major component of creationism. The web site, “Answers in Genesis” which presents ways for Christians to defend their faith has and article, “Where’s the proof” which speaks about the debate terms used by creationists and evolutionists. This article presents the idea that truth is viewed as something that is commonly determined independent of God. From the Christian perspective of this website, truth is a word that should not be used when arguing the Bible because the word truth supports the idea that the history of our universe as it is stated in the Bible, is not the true history of the universe. This website is saying that truth shouldn’t even be used by Christian creation believers. Young earth creationism is also a belief that some people have. Young earth creationism is a variation of the Genesis creationism belief, this belief take Genesis literally in terms of time and believes that the earth was created 6,000 to 10,000 years ago.
