Dr. S. Radhakrishnan:the True Teacher,scholar,philosopher
Radhakrishnan homogenizes and generalizes Western traditions. Hinduism may be located within each of his religious categories (monistic, theistic, incarnational, ancestral, and natural). By contrast, Radhakrishnan seems to imply that the theistic (second) and the incarnational (third) categories are the domains of Unitarian and Trinitarian Christianity respectively.
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, also known as Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was an Indian philosopher and statesman. He was the first Vice President of India (1952–1962) and subsequently the second President of India (1962–1967). He was world renowned thinker ,great teacher ,scholar of modern India. Born in Brahmin family . Dr.S.Radhakrishnan bridged the gap between easy and west philosophy and in the process he defined Vedanta, Hindu and religion of spirit. He defined Hinduism the world’s oldest surviving religion as both ethically and theoretically. He has vast array of knowledge on western philosophy and he can eloquently make speeches on both the philosophy for hours. He is the encyclopedia of eastern and western philosophy , he makes the comparative study of both . His academic appointments included University of Calcutta ,and Spalding Professor of Eastern Religion and Ethics at Oxford University (1936–1952).

He was conferred with knighthood on 1931 , the Bharat Ratna (1954) and the Order of Merit in 1963. His birthday is celebrated in India as Teachers’ Day on 5 September. Due to his many writings on Hinduism, India, and the East the West finally understands how great the eastern philospsphy especially the Hinduism
Dr.S.Radhakrishnan born in a poor Telugu Brahmin family at Tiruttani His father’s name was Sarvepalli Veeraswami and his mother’s name was Sitamma. His mother tongue is Telugu. He was a schiolar throguh out his academic career and study proceeds with lots of scholarship and merits and merriteous achievements. He is a true and genuine gem of a student even his lack money could not prevent his further study advancement. His father’s name was Sarvepalli Veeraswami[1] and his mother’s name was Sitamma. Dr.S.Radhakrishnan studied philosophy by chance , due to financial constraints he has to study the same subject as his cousin at Madras University due to availability of books from his cousin.
During his stinct at Madras University Dr.S.Radhakrishnan abale to produce and publish lots of articles on Indian journals as well as European journals. When India became independent in 1947, Radhakrishnan represented India at UNESCO (1946–52) and was later Ambassador of India to the Soviet Union, from 1949 to 1952. He was also elected to the Constituent Assembly of India. Radhakrishnan was elected as the first Vice President of India in 1952.[7] He was elected as the second President of India (1962–1967). When he became President, some of his students and friends requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday, 5 September. He replied,

A very touching tribute that swelled my heart. I have read his ‘Hindu View of Life’ several years back, but never knew he wrote also about Western philosophies and he synthesized the two. Great article.
