Enigmatic Time

The article talks about the mysterious yet constant nature of Time, and the benefits that we can derive from being mindful of Time.

The point of its conception, the state of affairs at that moment, the sight of its creation, and above all, its full essence, is unknown to man. It is the measure of the existence of all creations: aquatic, terrestrial, celestial or galactic; solid, liquid or gas; living things or non-living things; animal or plant; corporeal or incorporeal. Yet, no creation in the annals of existence knows its true measure — none truly knows how long it has swum. Neither does any creation know how long it will take before a new order is ushered in. Its being acts as a perfectly ordered and constant regulator of every other created being. Indeed the strict regulation of its being is unparalleled in recorded or known history.

As far as the intellect of man can compass, it regulates its inexorable motion to its unknown destination by the activities of the planetary bodies with respect to the sun. On what plane Time moved before their advent — nobody knows: for the sun, the moon, the stars and the planets are themselves created entities, and like all creations, have a beginning and will have an end. But there was surely a Being before all these other beings came into being. An Incomprehensible Being who created all these other beings for different purposes, with the strictest of orders and regulation, for the regulation of the orders of other beings. For such inimitable and perfect order doesn’t come to being by way of chance or accident; it especially can’t be spawned by some inexplicable Bang. This Great Being had other beings in servitude to his Majestic Presence, creations he fashioned from a luminous element, who celebrate his praises without tiring or flagging.  If he had other beings about Him — which are themselves creations, and by their nature must perforce have a date of expiration. Then there was Time before the Time we know today, for Time is the measure of the existence of all creation. Albeit a transcendent Time on a transcendent plane, Time it is nonetheless.

So Time moves forward inexorably on different plane without ever disrupting its rhythm or order. With its constant change have come many changes; slews of epochs, civilisations, kingdoms, monuments and men have made their entrance and ineluctable exit. Imperial and impressive as they once might have stood, they’ve all been reduced to ruins, dust and nothingness. It’s just like Shakespeare said: “Nothing ‘gainst Time’s scythe can make defence.”
