Eyesight to The Blind

What is the truth? what is sanity? Why do we believe what we do?

It is easy to explain what a flower is to a blind man, the fragrance is another story. We can’t explain the fragrance period. The truth is no different. When something is true, we simply know it, we do not have to be convinced, nor can we shove the truth down someone’s throat- you simply ‘know’ it or you don’t.

Ironically while the truth is there for all to see it also becomes obscured by the clouds of human assumptions and inevitably disappears behind a veil of manmade ‘truths’ that are ultimately determined by the moral standard adapted by the ‘majority.’

In our society the truths that most people live by, have been put in place by the majority, who then ostracize anyone with a different or ‘minority’ view. Then we have the majority as ‘sane’ and the minority as ‘insane,’ regardless of the validity of the ‘situation.’

The medical community is a good example, as most people have accepted that disease is inevitable and that pharmaceutical drugs or surgery are our only options. After all this is the ‘popular’ belief and it is much easier to fall in line than it is to question the majority.

The minority is always easier to dismiss and as we know by now, easier to get rid of, so therefore when any alternative method is suggested, it is inevitably shot down by the majority, as crazy or simply false. Most people than  simply go back to ‘business’ as usual and never think about what ‘could’ be, even if this ‘knowing’ or ‘truth’ could change their lives.

Just picture what would happen if the majority of people believed cancer or heart disease could be prevented by changing our diets. What would happen if arthritis could be reversed by eating the ‘right’ foods?

The billions of dollars we spend on researching cures could actually be used to feed and clothe the entire planet, as prevention would negate the unnecessary medicines and surgeries. Obviously there is a place for our doctors and nurses, but it isn’t in masking our problems.

Unfortunately once a system is in place; it is very difficult to change that system. To Change it, would be to admit being wrong as well as potentially giving up billions of dollars.

So, It becomes a simple matter of choice; do we accept everything we are told just because ‘more’ people believe it, or do we find out for ourselves? Do we dismiss something just because ‘less’ people believe it or do we research and find the ‘truth’ within?
