Free Will vs. Destiny

Do we truly make our own choices or are they predetermined?

Many people always thin that there is divine intervention in their lives, such as a blessing, curse, or any kind of lick.  Some times, entire cultures focused the entire epicenter of their lives on these phenomenon and the ever puzzling quest to explain them.  This led to an ultimate question that is still perplexing many philosophers today.  Are our actions of our own free will or predetermined by some higher deity?  This question is on the same plane as that of human origin as the two are very closely intertwined.  Figuring out the mystery of the beginning of our existence will no doubt begin to unravel many hazy areas of our lives.  Now, let’s focus on the main question and shed some light on this tough subject.

Why do we do the things that we do?  It is because of self-interest and that is what proves that there is no way that our actions can be “destined” for us to perform.  A person will almost always make decisions based on what they think will benefit them the most.  How something benefits a person is a result of their needs, which are always changing.  Every minute of every day, a person’s needs are varying.  This is why what we do cannot be pre-determined.  The way someone behaves will be different if one of their needs grows or shrinks.  The massive, spontaneous, and random fluctuation of these needs and the dependency that our behaviors have them prove that there is no way that we can be corralled into always doing what someone or something thinks that we will do.  If there are two needs that can randomly increase or decrease independently of one another, the behaviors of the person will be one thing of the first need is greater than the second, or a completely different behavior if the second is greater than the first.  Now, imagine this on a monumental scale with thousands of needs that constantly change.  Simply put, there are far to many possible actions for anyone or anything to predict each and every outcome precisely for every person on this entire planet.
