Free Will Vs. Determinism
Free will is the ability to make a choice without outside coercion or pressure.
While determinism is the theory that human choice is not free, but is decided by past events. These are two of the main ideas in the world today. Some people believe that everyone has a free will and others believe that there is no free will, but there is determinism. I believe that free will was once known in the world, but now there is no such thing. Determinism is happening all over the world.
I believe that we do not get a free choice at anything in the world. The people who are above us decide what happens for us. There are certain things that happened in the past that determine what we can and cannot do today. If the people in the past would have been a little bit better on things and thought things through then we would not have the same problems we have today. The world wars and the issues within the country did not help the fact that other countries today hate and want to kill us. It may have been in the past, but all of us have to suffer because of the people that started everything.
Today we still do not determine our own fate. Whether we are caught up in the wrong crowd or our siblings are just plain horrible, we have to pay. I do not think that it is right to punish people for the dumb peoples decisions. Just because my brother or sister likes to go party and get trashed and stoned does not mean that I should get put on lock down because of them. I am not the same person as they are so why should I get punished? No matter what happens in the past we are still paying for it today. Now that they have messed things up for us, now we have to fix everything that they did not do right back in their days.
We have free-will on our choices in life, but peer pressure says it all. Not everyone has the ability to say no. Our determinism was decided for us before we even were born. Our parents made a decision to have children and whatever predicament they were in at that time we are now brought into their problems. There is a small portion of free will that we have, but it always chooses the lives of other people also.
