Glory is Like.

A short, creative experimentation with glory.

Glory is like a dagger. It is short and may be fatal. In a war, for example, it can be used for protection or as a way to offend and hurt others. Like a dagger, it is an item many strive to have but few can control it and the potential for havoc it can cause. Very like a dagger that can be misused to rob others, wars can be waged to “glorify” the motherland at the cost of victim nations paying a terrible price. In the same manner, it can be used as a weapon to police corruption and strive towards social improvement and maintain personal integrity by the just officer. Very like the dagger, it is a double-edged blade that can be used for both good and evil.

Glory is like glasses. It can be used to sharpen the eyesight of the knowledgeable yet dim the vision of the gullible. It is an object sought for by both the desperate and blind man. Without it, one can be misled in the wrong direction. Like glasses, the knowledgeable can use it to better the society while the greedy use it to achieve selfish personal goals. It is fragile, and can be shattered by one wrong move. Like glasses, it can be locked away and forgotten through time. It is also in demand by ones who do not have it but need it. It can be expensive, and obtained at a terrible cost. It is a tool of the modern world, helping some yet profiting others.

Glory is like hairspray. It can be used as the status symbol, but can be also used to make others around remember you. It is a signature to enhance your identity. Like the hair spray’s fragrance but the suffering caused if it is accidentally sprayed on the eye, it can both cause both pleasure and pain. It is an item in demand by elite and ones bent on vanity. One who possesses ether is easily recognized. It be also used to cover what you do not want to show. It can improve your appearance in the community. One can bask when it is “sprayed” over them. It can cause happiness for those who have it and despair for those who don’t.
