Good vs. Evil
by What is good and what is evil? Do they even exist?
Every once in a while I find myself wondering about life. I know that there is a God, I just don’t know if he cares how we live our lives. Think about all these people that devote their whole lives to this belief of good and evil. People who go to church every Sunday and pray everyday. Are they wasting their entire lives?
I wonder about why we are here. What are we supposed to do? Why did God leave us here all alone? Is this a test? Would God really punish me and send me to hell just for not believing a certain religion? Why would God create us just to send us to hell when we don’t believe? So many of these questions run through my mind everyday at times it’s hard to concentrate. I tell myself not to worry, it’s not like I can help it anyway, and try and live my life. The questions always return and stare me in the face and make life difficult. Like a demon following me everywhere I go tempting me, bribing me to give in. As much as I ignore them, they won’t go away.
Everywhere I look I see sadness and decadence. I see the boy without his father, and even worse the boy with no one. I see pregnant teenagers with boyfriends that shave their heads. I see poverty at every corner and know that it is all caused by bad decisions and the greed of others. Dope fiends, gang bangers, drug dealers, murderers, rapists and a deteriorating society filled with ignorance. A place where “thug” is cool and smart people are called “nerds.” I see obscenely rich men that try nothing more than to get richer, and will do so at the cost of others health and even lives. I see war everywhere and I see grown men arguing and fighting about which magical creator is the real one, yet they murder despite their own beliefs.
Does God even exist? If not, then does good even exist? If we are all truly godless animals then the idea of a good and an evil would be a complete lie. Meaning millions of people are actually being controlled with their belief in good. Controlled by people who know better, people who know that being “good” is a sure way to finish last.
