How to Stop Being Poor
What you can do to change your life and be on the road to riches.
We may be victims of something uncontrollable that’s put us in a life of poverty, but it doesn’t mean we need to accept it. We may be “stuck in a place” today, but that‘s only temporary if we decide to do something about it. We can change our lives from struggling to success, by keeping the follow in mind.
-Commit to hard work.
If you’re going to change your financial situation, it’s going to take some hard work on your part. Are you going to go to school(or, back to school)? Are you going to work and go to school at the same time? What’ll benefit you more? Think about what’ll get you ahead quicker, not about what’s the easiest way out. We stay in our old situations and bad habits, when we take the easy way out. Whenever we have choices to make, we need to stop making the ones that keep us comfortable, because we’ll never change.
-Find your passion, and turn it into your dream.
When we don’t have money, we tend to feel we can’t do the things we want to in life. We may feel there’s no point in trying, and we give up on our dreams. We can’t let our situation stop us, because we’re only giving up on ourselves if we do. How do people get what they want in life? They fight for it, and they don’t let any opportunity go wasted. Another thing they do, is make their own opportunities when there aren’t any. They resource, they network, they work themselves up to it no matter what it takes, and they keep coming up with new ideas, instead of letting failures discourage them. If you have a passion or a talent, and it can make a viable contribution in some way, you have good reason to let nothing stop you from turning your dream into a reality.
-Build on your experience.
Whatever career path we choose, we should always continue to build upon our skills. The trouble with most people, is that they get to a position, and then they settle for it. The only way for you to advance further, or quicker, is to keep building on what you already know. If you have more skills than someone else in your office, you’re going to be more in demand, have a better chance for a promotion and/or raise, and you’ll be building better opportunities for yourself in the future. If we’re complacent, the only result we’re going to get, is complacency. I’ve never been satisfied with being “ordinary,” that’s why I’ve made myself able to do many things. The more knowledge you empower yourself with and the more you know how to build quality relationships with people(this helps in a big way), the easier it’ll be for you to achieve success in your life.
