Is It Always Essential to Tell The Truth, or are There Circumstances…..

Is it always essential to tell the truth, or are there circumstances……

Do we have to always tell the truth? Some people agree with the idea. They say that always telling the truth makes their soul feel relaxed and not guilty. However, there are also other people who argue that it depends on what the situation they are in that whether they tell the truth or not. In my opinion, telling the truth all the time is essential, nevertheless, in some cases, people should use the white lies.

First of all, try not to do anything that makes it necessary to tell a lie. People will lose their crediability if they become liars. For instance, if a person is overweight, in all likelihood, he is aware of the problem. However, if no one ever points out to him that they are consciously aware he is overweight, he will be more likely to continue to be like that . Or also for children, they often tell lies when they are coming home late just because they were too interested in their friends’ video games. In the situations such as this, it is not necessary to lie, however, most children do. When parents find out that kids are lying, if they just forget about it, or not teach their children that they should be truthful all the time, telling the lies will gradually become their kids’ habit, and in the future, children may keep telling other lies, which are more serious. Besides, telling the truth help people feel more comfortable than lying. When people tell lies, they are always nervous and afraid that someone else could discover the truth that they are hiding, which will make life become full of strain and suspicions.

However, always telling the truth does not mean lacking of tact. In some situations, when the truth is the ugly truth, people should hide the truth in order not to hurt others’ feeling. Take for instance white lies in relationships. if two people are in a relationship like marriage, it is better for them to share with each other their past memories, then disclose it and never ever remind of it again. But if a husband had some bad past memories like a crime or a cheater, and now he has reformed, his present is a responsible, kind and truthful person,  then why to tell the truth and break the relations, if it is possible to hide it? Or, for example, if a child is suffering from some sort of cancer, parents would feel to cheer their kid in his remaining days left by concealing the facts, so that he could have a motivation to be alive, and live happily and meaningfully for the rest of his short life. Telling those kinds of lies is not guilty, on the contrary, it benefits people in some aspects.

In conclusion, telling the truth all the time is necessary, but not compulsory. People can also hide the truth for some good reasons. In some situations, people should be tacful and wise to decide to tell the truth or not. Try to avoid being a liar, but remember, sometimes, a lie is better than a truth.
