Love: an Illusion
Find out if it’s an illusion or not. Remember you have the final say.
Don’t get scared by the topic, I’m just trying to verify if it is true or not. Love is a more complex word than illusion, it has various definitions and meanings and most a times, it means different things to different people, and it’s just their concept of it! On a general and widely accepted note, love varies greatly, from generic pleasure such as “I love this food”, to intense interpersonal feelings like “I love my wife”. Is love an action word or an abstract word? Somehow, it inhabits both traits. It might push you into doing something (stupid or not). Should we talk about the types, then we may have to take individual cultural perspective of several nations into consideration, but on a wider classification, it could be profane or sacred. A more accepted cultural classification is that in Greek and this include “agape” (the pure type), “eros” (sensual desires; think about it as erotic), philia (biblically phileo, for friends, family members and maybe folks in your community), storge (naturally occurring, like that of parents to offsprings) and xenia (more of hospitatlity).
Indeed, from the various types and definition, it is obvious that love is never an illusion. Come to think of it, have you never read in the scriptures “God is love”? If God is love and love is an illusion, then god is an illusion and if God is an illusion, why then should we live? Considering the above definitions, one can see that actually only one type of love “eros”, which happens to be more controversial has been the problem. Unfortunately this is not the time to talk about it, except in another article.
Illusion happens to be the distortion of reality, it therefore in this context means that love is totally unreal and it mere look like real but with a more close consideration its not. Illusion is basically more occurring in the visual sense and love is not something you can see, I cannot see any connection between “love” an “llusion”.
I’m actually not saying that all love felt are real, there exist “infatuation”, besides, and you know what players can do. Correct me if I am wrong but don’t quote me, each and every girl want to hear “I love you” even when you don’t mean it. Maybe they should just realize the fact that, the right to be heard does not include the right to be taken seriously.
Now, judge if love is an illusion or not.
