Love vs. Evil and Uniformity vs. Individuality

The real world demonstrates many qualities of love, but also of evil. It seems to the general public that evil is more numerous than the numbers of the force of ‘Good’. Love may be the most important concept in the definition of ‘good’, since almost everything associated with the word ‘good’ can also be associated, and revolves around, ‘love’, which includes justice, truth , honesty, righteousness, faith, among others. They can also be said the be the complete opposite of the sins. If you were to be so carefree (I don’t mean this in a bad way) as to switch on the television, what would you see? Nowadays, most people will either be watching cartoons, news, or documentaries , generally. In the news, not many news stories can be associated with ‘love’, because the general public appears to not favour this kind of ‘entertainment’. I believe that’s what they think, now that the media has influenced them. That’s why I believe that the media itself is the main reason why crimes are being promoted for a source of ‘entertainment’, while always downgrading the society along with it. I think less than 15% of the general public know this, and can differentiate ‘good’ news stories and ‘bad’ news stories, but this is just an approximation.
Love, surely, is a force to be reckoned with. But the general public is so easy to influence that the certain quality, virtues, and even feelings associated with love might be forgotten, luring them in the traps of the media. For those who are in a relationship, they may not even know that they have forgotten what love really means. This sub-category of people are one of the biggest consumer groups in the entire world, thinking that money and possessions are everything in life. How the media influences people, I think, is mainly from news channels, radios, magazines, movies, commercials, lottery, and casinos, as well.
If you relate love to a blazing fire in a pitch black cave, the absolute darkness would be the evil. The wrath, gluttony, sloth, lies, greed, and other evil things would be represented in this scenario as wind. This wind would overpower the fire, blowing it out. All of the virtues, such as loyalty, honesty, justice, patience, and kindness would then be represented as sparks. Even if the wind blows the fire down, the sparks would light it once again, stronger than ever. each individual spark would represent an important virtue, and every persistent gust of wind. But still, the wind will also be angered, blowing it out once again, resembling the howling of an furious tempest within a massive hurricane of destruction. In the middle would be rocks, representing the general public, neither one nor the other, inclined less to one, but in a way, more to the other. They will have the hardest time, being in the middle of all the warfare, enduring the burning heat of the sparks and fire, the overpowering winds and the terrifying darkness. Slowly, they will gradually make their way towards one side that they think will protect them, as this is human nature; to enjoy the feeling of being safe and protected. Whether they go to one side or the other is none of my business . But in the side of light and purity, the rocks will amass, creating a large rock at first, but then accumulating enough mass to be considered a massive boulder. This boulder will bring with it hope and joy everywhere it goes, blocking the wind and the darkness from the light behind it. But then, the rocks that have decided to side with the evil will rush out at the fire, claiming its heat for their own, quenching the light from it, and rendering sparks useless. The light will soon burst with heat, exploding the fiery embers that had attempted to destroy it. And so, the light will come again, and the battle never ending . In other words, the evil will always be stronger on the offense than the good; but the good stronger on defense than the evil, and vice versa.
This means that love and evil are always on equal footing, each not risking the chance to strike the other, but I believe that, in the end, greed jealousy, and the natural human nature of people will prevail, making evil just a little bit stronger than it needed to be in order to strike down love in an instant. But love, as you know, will always continue, living within another, then coming again, stronger than ever.
I think that conformity is better for our society than individuality is because of I am confident of our ability to rebel. If everyone was the same, they wouldn’t necessarily think the same, could they? Everyone is different, and if everyone was the same, there will always be somebody who will lead a movement against this conformity. He would want diversity, the freedom of people, like Jonas and the Giver. Jonas didn’t actually lead a movement, but he had that little hope. That little seed of hope grew into confidence, and gave the Giver hope and confidence, as well. If conformity was established, there will be no crimes for a while, so then, after the movement, the leader of this region would learn from conformity methods of reducing crimes. The society will benefit much more from this Sameness. From the past conformity, people would have grown habits to reduce their ecological footprint, as well! From conformity, people would learn that everyone was equal, and then there would be no discrimination at all!
Mankind will benefit more from conformity in the long term, than individuality. Yes, individuality has its benefits, but not in the long term. Look at all the crimes we have happening right now. If we went into conformity, even for only five or six years, I think that the crime rates will drop massively! That’s why I favour conformity over individuality, for a good reason.
