Negativity and How It Affects Our Society

Negativity is like a disease that can spread.

Many times we often hear people say, “stop being so negative”. A lot of times people brush this statement off as if it doesn’t applies to them. I mean in some cases it doesn’t apply to some people. Some people in this world always try to have a positive outlook on life, and that’s definitely a good thing. It’s so easy for a person to have a negative outlook when it comes to life. It takes a special person to be positive. Many times past experiences or upbringing has something to do with people being negative. The truth is that negativity is like a cancer. Any type of disease that can spread and consume you, can be the perfect way to describe negativity.

When I think of the mind, I sometimes think of the mainframe of a computer. Our minds are constantly changing and learning. The thoughts and ideas that we put into our heads, becomes part of who we are. When a person is consistently thinking negative thoughts, it spreads like a cancer. Eventually this type of thinking consumes your mind. The next thing that comes with this is a person who always thinks, believes, and assumes the worst in almost all situations. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I would assume that’s not that way that most of us want to live. Many times it’s our friends and family who bring negativity towards our way. The statement, “you are a reflection of the company you keep” is a true statement.

There is a way help to cure negativity in our society though. The best way to do this, is to get away from any and all negative factors in your life. If it’s friends in your life who are bringing you down with negativity, get away from them. If it’s a spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend, do the same. If it’s a situation that you are dealing with in life, do your best to get away from it. Find other hobbies and activities to keep your mind active. This can help prevent you from thinking too much, thus reducing the likelihood of negative thoughts. You don’t want your mind to get consumed with negativity to the point of no return. Having your sanity and a stable mind is priceless. What do you think?

Negativity should be delivered in small doses only. Yin and Yang says everything exists in balance… but this is one those things it’d be great to see a lot less of.

so agreed-get the negative OUT and leave it OUT! why dont ppl get this? especially when it comes to other ppl? I think ppl need to start thinking they are better than to be treated ill, and once they get some self confidence and get rid of the “bad” in their lives, everything turns POSITIVE and Happy! Thanks for posting this , hopefully you may just have helped one person into thinking they are too good for the bad! :)

Bradrick you seem to just get better and better. This was a fantastic piece. It is easier to be negative and people dont want to do the work necessary to bring positive happiness into their life. I agree that our surroundings have a great affect on our attitudes but realizing that and stepping away takes a strong person sometimes ~

I totally agree with you. Great tips. Once in a while, I recycle people who do nothing to me but bring me drama to my life. There are too many haters and judgmental people who are going to try to drag you down to their level and suck you into their own little drama that they themselves have created because as you probably already know, misery loves company.
